VE Day 80th Anniversary Service
Ludlow to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day with a community shared moment of celebration
Ludlow Town Council, in partnership with Ludlow Royal British Legion and St Laurence’s Church, is pleased to invite residents, visitors and local schools to join a special outdoor service marking the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.
This momentous occasion will be commemorated at Ludlow Peace Memorial by the Market Square at 11:00am on Thursday 8th May 2025.
Led by Revd. Andrew Body, the service will provide a poignant opportunity for the community to reflect, remember and give thanks for peace and unity secured eight decades ago.
VE Day 1945 saw people across Britain take to the streets in celebration. On this special 80th anniversary we invite residents to gather in the same spirit - joyful, united in remembrance and thankful for the love and laughter that emerge after moments of sadness and loss.
All are welcome to attend. Please arrive in good time to gather at the memorial for the 11:00am start.
Please be aware that the Castle Street Car Park will be closed during this event from approximately 10:30am until 11:30am.
