Mayor of Ludlow Launches 2026–27 Charity Programme with Race Night at Ludlow Rugby Club
The Mayor of Ludlow, Cllr Diane Lyle, is launching her 2026–27 charity programme with an exciting Charity Race Night on Friday 12th June at 7pm, held at Ludlow Rugby Club.
Although returning to the role for a second consecutive year, this event marks the first fundraiser of her new mayoral term, setting the tone for a vibrant programme of community‑focused charity events.
The evening will feature eight races, with guests also invited to get involved by sponsoring a race or purchasing a Jockey or Trainer. Entry tickets are £5 in advance (available from Ludlow Town Council) or £7 cash on the door, there will be the opportunity to place bets on all the races, with all proceeds supporting the Mayor’s chosen charities.
Local foodie‑favourite Noba Kitchen will also be at the Rugby Club throughout the evening, serving their much‑loved dishes to keep racegoers fuelled and happy.
Looking ahead, the Mayor’s 2026–27 charity programme features a rich and varied mix of events, with highlights including a Black‑Tie Evening in the historic Beacon Room at Ludlow Castle, a Charity Curry Night following last year’s popular sell‑out, a vibrant Charity Fashion Show, and a series of Music Nights and a Quiz Night at Ludlow Brewery — just a few of the many fundraising events planned for the year ahead.
Speaking about the launch of her new programme, the Mayor said: “I’m thrilled to begin this year’s fundraising with such a fun and sociable event. Our Race Night is a great opportunity for residents to come together, enjoy themselves, and support the charities that make a real difference in our community. I’m excited for the year ahead and the fantastic programme of events we have planned and look forward to seeing many Ludlovians and visitors from neighbouring councils at these events and sharing the fun.”
Tickets for the Race Night (and enquiries about other events) are available from Ludlow Town Council on 01584 871970.
