Ludlow Town Council Elects New Mayor and Deputy Mayor for 2026/27
Ludlow Town Council is pleased to announce that Councillor Diane Lyle has been elected as the Mayor of Ludlow for the civic year 2026/27 at the Annual Meeting of the Full Council held on Wednesday 13th May 2026.
Cllr Lyle previously served as Mayor during 2025/26 and brings forward her commitment to community engagement, partnership working and championing local organisation support through fundraising initiatives. She will continue to represent the town at civic events across Shropshire and beyond, and will work closely with councillors, volunteers and community groups throughout the year ahead.
Councillor Lyle said: “It is an honour to be elected once again as Mayor of Ludlow. I look forward to continuing the work we have begun, supporting our community, celebrating local achievements and representing this wonderful town.”
Ludlow Town Council is also pleased to confirm that Councillor Pete Addis has been elected as Deputy Mayor for 2026/27. Cllr Addis will support the Mayor in her duties and represent the Council at events when required.
The official appointments of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will take place at the Mayor Making Ceremony on Wednesday 27th May 2026 at 7pm at Ludlow Assembly Rooms.
The Council extends its sincere thanks to outgoing Deputy Mayor Cllr Kathy Cowell for her service and support during the past year.
