New Bench in Castle Gardens to Celebrate the Life of David Wynn

Ludlow Town Council is pleased to announce the instalment of a new bench in Castle Gardens, dedicated to the memory of May Fair showman David Wynn. The Wynn family has been running Ludlow May Fair for the past 50 years.
David Wynn, who sadly passed away in July of last year, was an important member of the Ludlow community. His dedication to continuing the May Fair tradition brought many years of laughter to the residents and visitors of Ludlow. The bench, commissioned by his wife Carol Wynn will be a tribute to his remarkable contribution and the Wynn family’s legacy.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Wynn family for their continued dedication to the Ludlow May Fair”, said the Mayor of Ludlow, Councillor Beverley Waite.
The Ludlow May Fair, held annually in May has been a highlight of the town’s calendar. This year’s fair was a particularly poignant celebration, marking the 50th anniversary of the Wynn family’s contribution and the first fair since David Wynn’s passing.
Ludlow Museum at the Buttercross has also hosted a temporary exhibition celebrating Ludlow’s May fair. The exhibition will continue to run until the 28th of July.
Ludlow Museum is open Friday – Sunday and Bank Holidays 10am- 4pm. Entry is £1.20 and children under 16 are free.
