Casual Vacancy - Gallows Bank Ward
Ludlow Town Council gives notice that a casual vacancy has occurred in the office of Councillor for the Gallows Bank Ward, following the resignation on 26th May 2026 of Councillor Ian Scott-Bell.
In accordance with Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 and Rule 5(2) of The Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules 2006, ten electors from the ward may request that the Returning Officer hold an election to fill the vacancy.
This request must be submitted within fourteen days of the date of the notice, excluding weekends and bank holidays. The deadline for receipt of such a request is therefore: Tuesday 18th June 2026
If no valid request for an election is received by this date, the Town Council will proceed to co‑opt a new councillor as soon as practicable.
