Ludlow Town Council Launches Community Survey to Shape Future Local Services

Ludlow Town Council has launched an important new community survey inviting residents to share their views on the services they value most and the priorities they believe should guide the town over the coming years. The survey forms a central part of the Council’s renewed commitment to Looking After Ludlow’s Future — ensuring decisions are shaped by the people who live, work, and spend time here.

The survey, titled Shaping Our Future Together, comes at a critical time. Shropshire Council’s financial situation remains a concern, raising the possibility that responsibility for some services — yet to be identified — may be devolved to town and parish councils. Ludlow Town Council is preparing proactively by seeking clear, representative feedback from the community.

To explore which services Ludlow Town Council is responsible for — and which fall to other authorities — please use the link to Ludlow Town Council website here.

The Shaping Our Future Together survey asks residents for their views on:

•           Current Town Council services and how they are valued

•           Confidence in the Council’s work and communication

•           Priorities for the future

•           Potential additional responsibilities that may be passed down from Shropshire Council

Paper copies of the survey are available in this month’s Local Ludlow magazine as a centre-page pull out and can also be collected from The Guildhall on Mill Street.

Completed surveys can be returned to The Guildhall or dropped off at community locations listed on the form, including Ludlow Library, Working Together Ludlow and Hands Together Ludlow.

An online version is also available via the QR code printed on the survey, alternatively click here to access the digital version of the survey.

Diane Lyle, Mayor of Ludlow said:

“Looking After Ludlow’s Future means listening carefully to our community and planning responsibly for the years ahead. This survey gives residents a real opportunity to suggest how we might influence and protect essential services, support local priorities, and respond to the challenges facing our town. Every response helps us make informed, community-led decisions.”

The Council encourages all residents to take part and share their views before the closing date 31st March 2026.
