Ludlow Invited to Help Grow This Year’s Remembrance Poppy Display
Following the overwhelming success of Ludlow’s Community Poppy Waterfall — a vibrant cascade of handcrafted poppies created by residents, schools, uniformed groups and volunteers — Ludlow Town Council is inviting the community to help expand the tribute for this year’s Remembrance commemorations.
The original waterfall, described as “a striking Community Poppy Waterfall… crafted with care, symbolising remembrance and reflection from the Ludlow community”, will return on 2nd November, displayed once again at The Georgian House, behind the Peace Memorial.
This year, residents are invited to contribute crocheted or knitted poppies measuring at least 5 inches, which will be added to the railings outside The Georgian House to complement the main waterfall installation. These additional poppies will create a fuller, more immersive tribute, reflecting the town’s ongoing commitment to remembrance.
Completed poppies can be dropped off at The Guildhall by Thursday 29th October.
Ludlow Town Council looks forward to building on this shared act of remembrance and welcoming contributions from across the community.
