LAR Recieves Core Grant
Ludlow Town Council Awards Core Grant to Ludlow Assembly Rooms

Ludlow Town Council is delighted to award a core grant of £5,000.00 to Ludlow Assembly Rooms to support the creative arts and enhance accessibility for the Ludlow Community.
Ludlow Assembly Rooms, an essential part of the town’s cultural and community landscape, also operates the Visitor Information Centre (VIC), located at the front of the building on Castle Square. Ludlow Visitor Information Centre (VIC) plays a crucial role in Ludlow’s thriving tourist economy, assisting over 7,000 visitors each year. The town council has awarded a grant of £5,000.00 in support of the VIC.
A spokesperson for Ludlow Assembly Rooms said: “This year, we are delighted to have reconnected with Ludlow Town Council and have received a core grant to help us pay for the service we supply for free. At a cost of over £8,000 a year just to open the VIC, every bit helps so the Assembly Rooms can continue to support the community and provide the Arts to Ludlow. Ludlow is a beautiful place with many visitors, so the VIC welcomes them, answers their questions – from hotels to bus routes – and encourages tourist spending.”
Mayor of Ludlow, Councillor Beverley Waite, commented: “Ludlow Town Council is proud to support Ludlow Assembly Rooms and the vital work they do for both residents and visitors to our town. The Assembly Rooms are not only a hub for creativity and the arts, but through the Visitor Information Centre, they also play a key role in supporting Ludlow’s local economy”.
A Project Support Grant of £750.00 contributed towards providing British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters for the Beauty and the Beast panto, ensuring the Assembly Rooms’ events are more inclusive and accessible to all.
Ludlow Town Council offers Core Grants to local organisations to support their activities in the parish of Ludlow. In 2025 / 26, the Town Council has awarded Core Grants with a combined value of over £13,000.00. To learn more about applying for a core grant or project support grants, head to ludlow.gov.uk
