Christmas Lights and Local Christmas Shopping
The Love Ludlow initiative - shop local, eat local and stay local - supports and encourages the use of local businesses, shops, eateries, and pubs. Ludlow market has been part of the town’s local community and festive activities for hundreds of years. The safety of traders and customers is important, and the town council insists that traders wear visors, and hand gel is available for customers and traders on all stalls.
Social distancing is important to keep everyone safe, so Ludlow’s Christmas lights will be put up late afternoon and into the evening to help the workforce avoid restricting space for the public on Ludlow’s narrow pavements and streets. Sadly, there is no switch-on event this year. The plan is to get all the lights up, including the Tree of Light in Castle Gardens, by the end of November
Ludlow’s first Christmas Gift markets are on 28 & 29 November, and other festive markets include Tinsel Tuesdays in December. Ludlow market will be trading seven days a week in December, including the regular weekday markets, local produce, and antiques markets.
